Boultham Park has the remnants of large formal gardens which host the annual fair, but are also perfect for picnics and ball games.
Hartsholme has a beautiful garden that was brought to life by a grant from the Big Lottery Fund and BBC Breathing Places in 2009. The project was titled The Sensory Garden Project. Visitors were invited to plant any species they wanted in the designated planting rings within the garden.
Many other Witham Valley Country Park areas also have places available for picnics or to play ball games.
